Eco-Friendly Claw Clips: What It Means

Generally, claw clips are mass produced using plastic so they are more affordable and profit-friendly. However, plastic hair claws contribute to plastic waste and pollution, especially if they end up in landfills or oceans. They also take a long time to decompose, causing harm to the environment.

As a new small business owner, I also started selling some acrylic claws due to market demand. However, as I slowly deviated to grow my brand to be more sustainable, I made the decision to move away from plastic claws and introduce our eco-friendly hair claws made of cellulose acetate. So the question might be, what is cellulose acetate? Cellulose acetate is a plant-based material derived from wood pulp or cotton fibers. It is considered a more eco-friendly and sustainable material compared to conventional plastics.

Environmental Impact:

Cellulose acetate is biodegradable, meaning it can break down naturally over time, reducing its impact on the environment. Choosing cellulose acetate claw clips can help lower your carbon footprint and support sustainable practices.

Durability:

Cellulose acetate is known for its strength and durability, making it a long-lasting option for hair accessories. With proper care, cellulose acetate claw clips can withstand regular use for an extended period.

 Aesthetics:

Cellulose acetate offers a more premium look and feel. It can be crafted into various styles, and its natural material often results in a unique pattern or texture for each clip.

In conclusion, while both plastic claw clips and cellulose acetate claw clips serve the same purpose, the choice between the two comes down to personal preference and environmental considerations. If you prioritize sustainability and durability, opting for a cellulose acetate claw clip would be a more eco-conscious choice.
